How do bleating marriages survive?

Source
I hear that for two people to survive in any kind of relationship, if one is a goat, the other must be a sheep. So what happens when two people have a strong inclination to being goats? It invariably means one of the goats must consciously shed his goat personality and be a sheep.

If this happens continuously, then the goat-turned-sheep begins to resent the goat-remained-goat. So how are they to truly survive in this relationship? Not the kind of survival where everyone is just there doing their own thing, but pretending to the whole world and on social media that everything is fine, and they are the best couple in the world by displaying their well painted horns online. But the kind of survival where both goats are truly happy as a couple and individual Bucks and Does

My question is can two people who have very strong personalities have a good marriage... truly good marriage void of resentment?

I have never been married before, so I would like to hear from you all, both married and single.

    1. Haa, I wasn't referring to celebs in this post. This is just about regular people who have strong personalities.

  2. I can't categorically say yay or nay but I think its possible. You can both have strong personalities and still complement each other in various ways. As long as you understand each other and are willing to make compromises here and there, I think the two can be successful. (or at least I hope so, for my own sake lol)

  3. There is no manual on this.
It cannot be said in either black or white colours.

One of them MUST turn into a sheep by force by fire or they will continue to lock horns, bleating louder and disturbing everybody with their raucous noise!

Funny enough, the goat turning into a sheep might not know it is doing so, until, behold, it looks into the mirror and see that it is no longer a goat! How did the transformation happen? A million dollar question!

Or one of the goats will seek out a fairy godmother to wave her wand, abracadabra, and the other goat will turn into a sheep....until 'midnight' before it turns back to a goat...if the other goat allows it. Ahahaha.

Seriously though, Yes, two people with strong personalities can have a successful marriage! It all depends on 'them!'

    1. Please, don't kill me with laughter o. Lol ar fairy godmother. Yes, I know one must become a sheep, but if it's that one always compromising, won't it lead to resentment, thus a sour marriage?

  4. When you say strong personalities, I am assuming that you mean two stubborn people? I will say the answer is yes. And either one of them loses their stubbornness or they both take turns being sheep.

Believe it or not, it takes MATURITY to sustain a marriage and maturity will determine how and when you resolve conflicts as well as how you put your foot down when it is necessary to do so. Being a sheep does not guarantee a successful marriage any more than being in love. In fact, a very good friend of mine walked away from a woman because she was too "complacent" he told me frankly that he needed a stronger minded woman who would keep him and his future kids in check. His marriage to another goat is going on ten years now. Do they have issues, oh yes! But we have all since learnt that when they quarrel just pretend all is well because "na them understand theirself". That said, a successful marriage is not everyday and every minute happy go lucky. I am yet to see that anywhere.

The truth is two goats may not get along all of the time but can still have a very successful marriage.

at the end of the day regardless of personalities, each must make compromise and be equally invested in the marriage, each other and the relationship for it to have feet to stand on and durability.

    peace.
