The atmosphere in the cinema was charged.
The air of mystery was very strong; no one knew what would happen next. The heroine
was in serious trouble. Her situation had been getting worse with the
progression of each scene.
The hero had been captured and was shackled
in the dungeon. The blood of the heroine was about to be spilled. The villain
was getting the victory and laughing heartily. It was a loud and bitter laugh.
Everyone that had tried rescuing the heroine had been violently eliminated from
the story. The only hope was the hero, but he was nowhere to be found.
The heroine was still in distress. The villain
approached her, flashing his devilish grin and brandishing his shiny dagger.
Evil was winning and good seemed to be losing the war. The movie was turning
awry. The movie viewers were tensed. They shifted restlessly at the edge of
their seats. They wanted to know how this story would end.
Suddenly, the villain lifted the dagger
above the heroine, ready to strike and the movie audience started murmuring
audibly. By this time, some people had their faces in their palms, they couldn’t
bear to watch anymore. Some others had jumped up from their seats in
apprehension. Everyone was exhibiting one form of anxiety or the other.
Everyone... except one man!
The man sitting beside this exceptional
man noticed the calm demeanour he had, and wondered why he wasn’t moved by this
movie that seemed to shake even the most stone-cold heart. After a while, the seat
partner looked at him again and kept wondering what was wrong with him.
He finally braced himself to ask the
question that had now occupied his mind. ‘Excuse me sir. What exactly is wrong?
Can’t you feel in tension in the air? Can’t you see the heroine is in trouble and about to go down? Can’t you see the hero is nowhere to be found?
Can’t you see that evil seems to be prevailing over good? Why do you remain so
calm? Are you so cold-hearted that such a strong movie scene cannot move you,
when everyone has almost pissed in their pants?
The exceptional man smiled gently and
replied, ‘Oh no sir. There is no need for me to be moved, I was the one who
wrote the script of the movie!’
This above... is my true life story. I fret no
more. The scriptwriter is control.
Selah.
Amen!!!! Knowing that God has a divine plan definitely makes each passing day easier to live through
ReplyDeleteYes o. That is what keeps the hope alive
DeleteYou will be fine. Just fine.
ReplyDeleteAmen. Thanks
DeleteAmen, that is word!
ReplyDeleteWAO! NICE SHORT SUSPENSEFUL STORY...
ReplyDeleteKNOWING THAT ALL TINS HAPPEN IN OUR LIVES BY DIVINE ORDER GIVES MAN THE CONFIDENCE TO SOAR AND REACH HIS/HER DREAMS.
KEEP WRITING.
All things happen by divine order? Hmmm... things are not black and white sometimes ooo. Thanks
DeleteIndeed! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you wove the story into the message.
BTW, your blog is a bit too wide, maybe it's just my laptop?
No, it's a little wide on my laptop too.
DeleteThanks myne.
DeleteNo, it was not just your laptop. I did not know it wasn't good, I wanted it to look as wide as your template used to look a long time ago. I have readjusted it now. I hope it is better
yes, much better. I used to like wide pages but later learnt something that fits most systems is better.
Deleteummmmm....nice!!!!!
ReplyDeletei like the ending of the story.."i'm the scriptwriter." paraphrased...
abi ooo. the almighty has engraved us on the palm of his hand and so why should we fret when the enemy rages just like when Jesus walked on the calm of the sea.
you have that faith to move on and fret no more dearie and the Lord God will keep you and see you through.
"a thousand shall fall at your side, ten thousand by your right hand but it shall not come near yOU, ONLY WITH YOUR EYES SHALL YOU BEHOLD AND SEE THE REWARD OF THE WICKED."
Amen to your prayers. You got the message, loud and clear.
DeleteI get it but don't feel it. Yea, you are the 'scriptwriter' but was the even favouring you? Like I tell people, we find ourselves in situations we fully understand the consequnces but the problem wad hoe to change it. Years, a guy wad holding a dagger but how do you change that?
ReplyDeleteAs in really? This story was not written for anyone to 'feel it'.
DeleteIt is a parable of my true life story and I am the heroine in the story. I don't need to worry about how the scriptwriter will change the story of the guy holding the dagger. The lessons in the parable are far deeper than what I can start typing now.
Or lemme just put it plainly like this... Why would the scriptwriter fret like the other movie watchers when he already knew what was gonna happen at the end of the story?
DeleteOh! That's quite boring. Like really, being a scriptwriter means a life with no surprise. Yes we want everything in life to favour us but the suspense and the 'down times' enable us enjoy the little things.
DeleteMy earlier comment had lots of typo. That was thanks to predictive text feature on my phone.
And I'm confused here (obviously) where you referring to God or yourself as the scriptwriter. I just want to learn?
DeleteIf it's God as the scriptwriter, referring to your post, you might still get stabbed with the dagger. Remember, "God works in mysterious ways" so you need to fret or be prayerful. Theoretically, with Him all things are possible but not always as we want it.
If you are the scriptwriter...then read my earlier post.
Hmmm, I guess I really have a lot of explaining to do.
DeleteI am not the scriptwriter shaa. Thanks for your comments
Yes he is!!!!! The one who knows the end from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteYes He does. Thanks
DeleteI LOVE!!!! His plan for our lives is good and not evil.
ReplyDeleteYes o. This is a great cause for hope.
DeleteYou just have a way with words. I love it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliments ma'am
DeleteThe Master of the Game of our lives. You are blessed Ilola.
ReplyDeleteAmen. And you too
DeleteFor anyone without the concept of God, this would be hard to understand. Oh yes, God is the scriptwriter. While we may not know what's next in the movie; He is in total control of it. While we may have our faces in the palm of our hands, perhaps in shivers, fear, He'd just be smiling, perhaps even whistling away words like, "For I know the plans I have towards you, (my son, my Daughter), plans of good and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope). Awesome stuff!
ReplyDeleteDo you give me permission to share this lovely write up?
- LDP
Yes. I found it hard to believe that someone could not understand.
DeleteYou nailed the interpretation.
Yes, you can share, as long as you reference it to this blog. Thanks
Gods ways are not our ways neither his thoughts our thoughts.
ReplyDeleteGod is still God and he is still on the throne I still believe he will not allow our foot to be moved and that is because, he is the potter and scriptwriters of our life! Yes! he is in control... thanks for sharing.
Yes, He is still God. And He is in control, which is why we shouldn't fret.
DeleteAre the peace of knowing your script was written by the One you can rely on always! I love your analogy @ilola. Peace!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ginger.
DeleteAll our lives are played out like a script. You couldn't have written yours any better, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYes oo. We would all be imperfect scriptwriters
DeleteBaba loke nooni! He is in total control of every thing that concerns us. Nice way to pass the message across.
ReplyDeleteYes He is
DeleteLoved the analogy.
ReplyDeleteRE: 'fret no more'....I tell myself that all the time but I still do *sigh*
Don't we all. We cannot help it at times
Deleteindeed. i have no fear, he knows and sees all
ReplyDeleteYes He does.
DeleteI was spell-bounded.I like the analogy you used to show God is in control of your life.
ReplyDeleteeeya, thanks o. How you dey?
DeleteGod is dfinitely in control of our lives. All we have to do is Trust and Obey
ReplyDeleteWhat other choice do we have than to trust? I guess none.
DeleteWhen God is in control why should we worry or fret? Yes those times come but whenever we remember God is in control then we are confident to leave everything to Him cos like you said, He is the scriptwriter of our lives stories. Good one @ilola
ReplyDeleteYes, He is in control and we should always keep this fact at the back of our minds. Thanks
DeleteFrankly @ilola, there is more to this . Its deep and more than what u call the story of your life. Thank goodness that the Scriptwriter is God , no need to fret indeed cos in the end everything will work out for your good.
ReplyDeletePeace!
Yea, I guess it is deep. Amen.
DeleteI rest assured knowing that He knows the end from the beginning. He might allow somethings to happen, but would always stir us in the right direction & ultimately WORK OUT EVERYTHING TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD.
ReplyDeleteYes o. Everything will work out together for our good in the end
DeleteHmmmm, now that was a super one! For a second, I thought it was really a movie. Yes indeed, God is the scriptwriter of our lives and he knows the end from the beginning. Since this is the case, we have no reason whatsoever to panic!
ReplyDeleteLol. Movie indeed.
DeleteWoo! I love this, I love you. Thanks for sharing. Plus I loved LDP's interpretation.
ReplyDeleteGod has me in the palm of his HANDS, his plans always work for our good even though we don't always see itm
God bless you sis!
Yeah, LDP interpreted it well.
DeleteAmen, and you too.
Sometimes it's just easier for people to act on what they think is God's plan for their life because they want it so much. They convince themselves that it's God's, when it is actually theirs. But God's voice is always crystal clear. The challenge is to listen so we can hear it.
