The Scriptwriter

Source

The atmosphere in the cinema was charged. The air of mystery was very strong; no one knew what would happen next. The heroine was in serious trouble. Her situation had been getting worse with the progression of each scene.

The hero had been captured and was shackled in the dungeon. The blood of the heroine was about to be spilled. The villain was getting the victory and laughing heartily. It was a loud and bitter laugh. Everyone that had tried rescuing the heroine had been violently eliminated from the story. The only hope was the hero, but he was nowhere to be found.

The heroine was still in distress. The villain approached her, flashing his devilish grin and brandishing his shiny dagger. Evil was winning and good seemed to be losing the war. The movie was turning awry. The movie viewers were tensed. They shifted restlessly at the edge of their seats. They wanted to know how this story would end.

Suddenly, the villain lifted the dagger above the heroine, ready to strike and the movie audience started murmuring audibly. By this time, some people had their faces in their palms, they couldn’t bear to watch anymore. Some others had jumped up from their seats in apprehension. Everyone was exhibiting one form of anxiety or the other. Everyone... except one man!

The man sitting beside this exceptional man noticed the calm demeanour he had, and wondered why he wasn’t moved by this movie that seemed to shake even the most stone-cold heart. After a while, the seat partner looked at him again and kept wondering what was wrong with him.

He finally braced himself to ask the question that had now occupied his mind. ‘Excuse me sir. What exactly is wrong? Can’t you feel in tension in the air? Can’t you see the heroine is in trouble and about to go down? Can’t you see the hero is nowhere to be found? Can’t you see that evil seems to be prevailing over good? Why do you remain so calm? Are you so cold-hearted that such a strong movie scene cannot move you, when everyone has almost pissed in their pants?

The exceptional man smiled gently and replied, ‘Oh no sir. There is no need for me to be moved, I was the one who wrote the script of the movie!’

This above... is my true life story. I fret no more. The scriptwriter is control.

Selah.

No, it was not just your laptop. I did not know it wasn't good, I wanted it to look as wide as your template used to look a long time ago. I have readjusted it now. I hope it is better

i like the ending of the story.."i'm the scriptwriter." paraphrased...
abi ooo. the almighty has engraved us on the palm of his hand and so why should we fret when the enemy rages just like when Jesus walked on the calm of the sea.
you have that faith to move on and fret no more dearie and the Lord God will keep you and see you through.

  6. I get it but don't feel it. Yea, you are the 'scriptwriter' but was the even favouring you? Like I tell people, we find ourselves in situations we fully understand the consequnces but the problem wad hoe to change it. Years, a guy wad holding a dagger but how do you change that?

    1. As in really? This story was not written for anyone to 'feel it'.

It is a parable of my true life story and I am the heroine in the story. I don't need to worry about how the scriptwriter will change the story of the guy holding the dagger. The lessons in the parable are far deeper than what I can start typing now.

    2. Or lemme just put it plainly like this... Why would the scriptwriter fret like the other movie watchers when he already knew what was gonna happen at the end of the story?

    3. Oh! That's quite boring. Like really, being a scriptwriter means a life with no surprise. Yes we want everything in life to favour us but the suspense and the 'down times' enable us enjoy the little things.

My earlier comment had lots of typo. That was thanks to predictive text feature on my phone.

    4. And I'm confused here (obviously) where you referring to God or yourself as the scriptwriter. I just want to learn?

If it's God as the scriptwriter, referring to your post, you might still get stabbed with the dagger. Remember, "God works in mysterious ways" so you need to fret or be prayerful. Theoretically, with Him all things are possible but not always as we want it.

If you are the scriptwriter...then read my earlier post.

    5. Hmmm, I guess I really have a lot of explaining to do.

I am not the scriptwriter shaa. Thanks for your comments

  11. For anyone without the concept of God, this would be hard to understand. Oh yes, God is the scriptwriter. While we may not know what's next in the movie; He is in total control of it. While we may have our faces in the palm of our hands, perhaps in shivers, fear, He'd just be smiling, perhaps even whistling away words like, "For I know the plans I have towards you, (my son, my Daughter), plans of good and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope). Awesome stuff!

Do you give me permission to share this lovely write up?

  25. Sometimes it's just easier for people to act on what they think is God's plan for their life because they want it so much. They convince themselves that it's God's, when it is actually theirs. But God's voice is always crystal clear. The challenge is to listen so we can hear it.
